Just a little whorish

February 12, 2009

Love is in the air!  I’m sure that many of you have gotten started and are well into getting the holiday achievements done – if you still need to start or would like help getting it all done, go check out Desdarii’s guide – it’s all you need to read for learning the “things to do, quests to complete & achievements to achieve”!

I will give you three tips that I figured out the hard way:

  1. If you want the cards and pledges, talk to the guards.  If you want the bread/brew/woodcrafts love some vendors.
  2. If you’re in IF and want to find some easy guards (no pun intended!) go love the guards that are on duty outside the entrance to Ironforge.  If you run out there, you’ll see a whole slew of hearts.  (Click here for proof.)  Really, it’s more like a public service.  These poor guys have to stand out in the snow and the cold and no one even thinks to come outside and offer them a brew and some love.
  3. My theory on why brews were so hard to get in IF (ignoring the fact that the warrior and I weren’t aware of item no. 1) is because the Dwarves had drunk all the brews, so there were none left to give to us.

But this all makes me think – isn’t this all rather whorish?  Besides the fact that we’re throwing ourselves at anything that will take us, it all seems worse if you’ve got a nice circle to go around (like outside IF), or even back and forth between guards stationed next to each other.  Wouldn’t they, at some point, think, “Oy, she was jus’ over here lovin’ me.  An’ now she’s lovin’ him!  Hold on, is she makin’ eyes at that other guy?  Jus’ look at that skimpy dress she’s wearin’… ” and think other not-nice things that I won’t type out, since this is a public blog.

Just a little whorish

Be that as it may, it won’t stop me from completing as many achievements as possible, as soon as possible.  I learned my lesson about waiting until the last minute for the Elder achievement.  Achieve early, achieve often.

@ Manu – hm, thanks for the hint! I’ll have to search out other helpful places that like in the other cities.

@ Esdras – how annoying! I would feel the same way – it’s a lot of work that goes into these achievements!

I love these world event achievements. I started as soon as I got home from work last night and didn’t stop until bedtime :)I even cycled through each of my alts every hour to get new gifts. Two of them now have the Peddlefeet pet and most have the black dresses!Only a few more action items on my Druid and he’ll be Megalis the Love Fool :D
