In which I am searched

March 3, 2009

One thing that I like about blogging at wordpress is that they give me a little panel that shows blog stats, recent visitors, clicks out and search terms that people used to get to the blog. I like to check these every so often, just to keep up on how people get to me. And also in hopes that I will have an interesting one come up.

I say this because for as long as I’ve been reading him, Gnomeageddon has had his GoogledGnome posts – often they’re practical searches related to mages, but every so often a fun one comes up. Felfire had an “interesting” one recently too.

Thus far, my searches have all been pragmatic: simply “holy discipline” and variations of that with “wow” and “anea” thrown in. (I wonder if I should be worried my name is used as a search term?) Holy, discipline, priest, healing, UI terms, etc. Nothing fantastically interesting. A few days ago, I had a search for the blog’s exact address with “der” after it. Is this just a case of an “enter” button hit prematurely, or was it more like, “durrrrrr” when people make fun of you? Who knows?

I hadn’t checked the blog’s stats in a few days; the wind decided to come hang out around our parish on Sunday and I think it knocked some lines askew and cable was out all day. It decided to work just in time for me to check some search terms for that day:

  • cadistra naked
  • whorish dress mean

This is when the fun starts, people.

(P.S. Cadistra… I smirk and raise my eyebrow in your general direction.)

You know, I used to get fun search terms on Lost in Translation. Now it’s all “best in slot holy priest” and the like. I miss the days when I got hits for “crab sauce plating” and “draenei lesbians”.

I’m more curious why people looking for a naked tauren would switch to spacegoat instead. Make up your mind, crazy internet perv!

I’d do this on mine, but mine are pretty boring.

I never get any good searches on mine anymore either. Most of it has to do with datamining the armory, and where is the fun in that?

Clearly I need to start writing about WoW-related nudity. I’m missing out on a serious demographic of the WoW-searching public.Next post: Naked Blood-Elves Lookin’ Mean in Whorish Dresses…yeah that’s the ticket!

…as Rhidach’s comment drives more searches to this blog, desperately seeking WoW Porn.

Gee, the best search that’s brought people to mine so far has been “epic fail.” Sadly, I don’t think Google’s quite got “super hunky badass Tauren studmuffin” hooked to my blog yet.

You’re welcome Anea!Tarsus if you want the same SEO services, I charge by the hour, haha.

@ Rhidach – Whomever thinks there is no such thing as “bad attention” never heard of Michael Vick.Anyway, I’m a married man. If I wanted that sort of attention I would write Harry Potter slash fiction, not a tanking blog. This is starting to turn into a contest of how much undesired traffic we can push this way by abusing google.

Well, we really must find a way to make that work then. Subliminal messaging! Work it in! And lo, they will come.

You know, the thing is though, that I will have to start delivering on the searches. If I get a lot of people coming for WoW Porn and are disappointed, well that will just make me look bad, won’t it? Gah.
