Through the Dark Portal

I really think there ought to be an achievement for going through the Dark Portal. It’s such an important event in a character’s life, it ought to be memorialized in their achievements in addition to the cheesy “Dark Portal” screenshots that I take. (Surely I’m not alone in this, right?)

I take Dark Portal screenshots of all my alts… though I might have missed my first char’s traveling.

I always take a screenie too, it’s something that’s gotta be done! Weird tho, I never bother taking one when they enter Northrend…

Hm… I never bother with one going to Northrend either. I guess it doesn’t feel as epic? I knew the first time I ever walked through the Dark Portal, I felt all excited and eager – I had finally earned the right to go!

My boyfriend went to Outlands early to train his tailoring but Tarinae REFUSED to see the other side until she was 58…I MYSELF refused to see it until she was the right level.

I don’t think I have ever taken a single screenshot of that moment. And that’s with…. like 10 or 11 characters having gone through it. Perhaps I am fail.

I, like Alas, have never screenshotted that moment either, on any char.
So I agree with Anea’s supposition that we’re just not cheesy. :P Nostalgic, occasionally! But that kicks in later! Not as you’re doing it!
I haven’t screenshotted my characters’ first passage through the Dark Portal. I’ve totally taken screenshots at the Dark Portal with my Orphans during Children’s Week, though, does that count?
I completely agree with the suggestion that going through the Dark Portal should earn you an Achievement. It *is* a milestone in your character’s life.
There are achievements for much lesser things! Surely they could add one more. I don’t blame you for taking screenshots with the orphans on the Outlands side of the portal – it’s much more huge and impressive, imo.
When you cross that portal and you find yourself facing the other way, that first time you swing your view around….
Woah.
I’ll never forget that view.
Yeah, pretty sure all my characters have been screenshotted in front of the portal…
